ANTHONY HALL REACHES 200.

On January the 11th 2007, Anthony Hall played against Lancashire 3, this was his 200th match for Durham County Badminton Association1st.team.

He is the only person ever to reach this record, the previous best was 117 , 1st team matches, made by Tony Evans.

In the match v Lancashire 3 he played with Michael Gollagly, a last minute choice. Michael is usually a 3rd team player,

but now joins a band of players who can say they played 1st team with a Durham LEGEND.

Anthony first played for the 1st team in November,1981. He was 18 years old at the time.

For the next 26 years he has never been out of the 1st team.

The national slogan of, play it, love it, live it, could have been written about Anthony Hall.

As a travelling salesman he would contact players in the various areas he visited and arrange games while

he was away from home. He has made many friends this way.

He is one of the few players still playing, who played for Durham in the premiership when Durham had what was probably their

Best Team.

He came through the Durham County Junior ranks early and won the Senior County Restricted Singles Tournament at 18.

He had quite a successful junior career winning many boys and mixed doubles titles.

His partnerships with Colin Wilson and Lisa Wilson were probably his halcyon days.

Anthony received a Whisky decanter and glass, set on a polished walnut base, from Durham to commemorate

the occasion.

It was presented by George Milner who coached  Anthony  when he was a junior.

Anthony is a LEGEND in his lifetime.

Has anyone in the country beaten or even reached this remarkable record?
