Academy Music Group (AMG) has enlisted Liverpool based installation specialist, Adlib, to supply and install a Coda Audio LA12 / SC8 PA system at its 1,020 capacity auditorium at O2 Academy Oxford. As the busiest and largest venue in the city, AMG required investment in a system for a demanding live events schedule of up to 250 shows per annum.
Based in Hannover, Coda Audio is a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality pro-audio loudspeaker systems. It is widely regarded that the technology incorporated in Coda products is at the forefront of the audio industry due to the number of unique patented driver technology designs which provide outstanding dynamic results as well as improved precision and reliability over conventional components.
The installed system comprises of 8 x Coda LA 12 full range 3-way speaker enclosures, utilising 2 x 12″ neodymium ultra-low distortion woofers, 4 x 3.5″ coil neodymium mid-range drivers and 3 x 4″ neodymium planar wave drivers.
The sub-bass units are 6 x Coda SC8F Subs containing 4 x extremely long excursion 18” neodymium ultra-low distortion woofers with an integrated velocity sensor that measures, compares and controls cone movements.
The system is processed by Coda’s DNC260 Processors and powered by Coda’s C10 Class H Amplifiers, which deliver 5000 Watts per channel at 4 Ohms.
The system has a proven track record with Adlib’s rental department on varied events including the King Tuts Stage at T In The Park 2014-2015, Latitude Festival – Stage 2, Creamfields, V Festival stages along with touring acts including Panic! At The Disco, OMD, Placebo, Mrs Brown’s Boys and Jack Whitehall ‘Gets Around Tour’.
“The system provides an extremely high SPL (sound pressure level) before any indication of distortion and is one of the most efficient systems currently on the market” says Andy Dockerty, Managing Director, Adlib. “Coda is a brand that Adlib have adopted due to its efficiency and industry leading component technology and we are delighted that Academy Music Group’s O2 Academy Oxford has selected a Coda system.”
We’ve worked with Adlib for many years and are so pleased with this new installation, we’re already receiving really positive feedback from touring Sound Engineers and Production Managers” says Caren Ashton-Penketh, General Manager, O2 Academy Oxford. “We wanted to invest in a first class sound system for great audio that can meet the demands for touring international artists as well as the high level of major club brands that we work with. Academy Music Group venues have a reputation for a standard of excellence and it’s a pleasure to work with the Adlib team once again who bring their extensive knowledge and experience of touring venues to the fore.”
