The Requirement

Standing proudly next to Ibrox Stadium, the newly constructed Edmiston House replaces its 1971 namesake as a state-of-the-art, multipurpose venue for Rangers Football Club. With an ambitious programme that includes live gigs, gala dinners, fan experiences, and private events, the venue needed to be as versatile as it was visitor-friendly — designed to meet the technical standards of a modern academy-sized venue while remaining intuitive for in-house and visiting production teams alike.

The project called for a complete technical fit-out, covering everything from flown PA and motorised truss to stage decking, lighting, video, and robust show infrastructure. Adlib was brought in to supply and install a fully integrated system capable of delivering a seamless experience across concerts, presentations, and corporate events, all while interfacing with the venue’s in-house systems for lighting and safety.

Despite delays caused by pandemic-related supply chain issues, the installation needed to be delivered to a high standard, with flexibility baked in for events beginning before full completion. As Jonathan Towers, Senior Installation Engineer at Adlib, put it:

“This was a challenging installation where flexibility and quality were of the utmost importance. The specification is fantastic for a venue of this size — it sounds and looks great, and the client was very happy with the service given by both S&I and our rental colleagues. We look forward to it giving years of sterling service.”

The Solution

Adlib’s Installation and Rental departments worked closely with Rangers, Keppie Design, Sharkey UK, and Turner & Townsend to deliver a rider-ready, scalable production package — complete with audio, lighting, video, and rigging — designed around the venue’s multi-use ambitions.

Stage Engineering & Rigging

The backbone of the space’s production rig was built using 40 metres of Milos M290 HD truss, flown from 12 ChainMaster 250kg D8+ motors, controlled via a 12-way Guardian motor controller with plug-in boxes and remote pickle for simple day-to-day operation.

To support the venue’s flexible event formats, Adlib also supplied a versatile XStage decking package including 18 standard decks and additional rolling drum risers, complete with handrails, skirts, steps, and carts for efficient storage and setup.

Audio

The audio system was designed to offer big-venue performance in a scalable, easy-to-use format. The main FOH system features:

  • 12 x L-Acoustics Kara IIi line array elements
  • 4 x SB18 IIi flown subwoofers
  • 4 x KS28 ground subs
  • 1 x A10i Wide centre fill

Amplification is handled by a combination of L-Acoustics LA4X and LA12X units, supported by a custom signal patch system for rapid changeovers.

FOH control is provided by an Allen & Heath C3500 surface with CDM48 MixRack, giving engineers a powerful yet familiar interface. A 10EaZy Class 1 compliant noise monitoring system ensures sound levels remain in check, particularly for corporate and community events.

For monitoring and on-stage sound, Adlib supplied its own AA1214E-V2 Full Range loudspeakers, AA15HLv2 subs, and Linea Research 44M6 amplifiers. The system also includes 4 Sennheiser EW100 G4 radio mic systems with e935 transmitters, a wide selection of Shure, Audix, and Sennheiser microphones, and Radial J48 DIs to meet the needs of everything from full band setups to spoken word.

Stage connectivity is supported by Adlib custom split and line systems, a dedicated microphone workbox, mic stand case, and plenty of cabling infrastructure, prepped and installed to ensure smooth operations from day one.

Lighting

The venue’s lighting rig combines creative flexibility with ease of use, controlled by an Avolites Tiger Touch II console and networked via a Chauvet Net-X II node. Fixtures include:

  • 10 x Chauvet Rogue R3 Spot
  • 10 x Rogue R2X Wash
  • 10 x COLORado 1QS
  • 4 x Strike Array 4 for audience blinders and strobe
  • 6 x Ovation E-910FC Profiles with 25–50° lens tubes

An Amhaze Eco hazer provides atmospheric control, while the system interfaces with the venue’s Loxone house lighting and fire systems for compliance and smooth transitions between event formats.

Video & Infrastructure

For presentations and multimedia events, the in-house projection system features a Panasonic PT-RZ120 12K laser projector paired with a 4.8m-wide front projection screen and BluStream C44 HDBaseT matrix for signal routing.

Behind the scenes, Adlib installed a robust infrastructure of Cat6a, fibre, DMX, and power cabling — all tested, labelled, and ready for plug-and-play deployment by staff or touring teams.

The finished result is a cutting-edge venue that delivers on both form and function. Whether hosting acts like Will Young, Saint PHNX, or the IndieBeer Scotland Festival, New Edmiston House is now equipped to support a world-class live experience — with a technical spec that rivals much larger venues.

Adlib is proud to have played a part in realising Rangers Football Club’s vision for a dynamic, modern cultural space in the heart of Glasgow.
