Leading Scottish promoter and event management company, DF Concerts, required a high quality, reliable Glasgow PA hire and lighting rental service for the inaugural TRSNMT Festival in Glasgow, Scotland.
With the TRNSMT brand debuting on the Scottish festival scene, the pressure was mounting to get everything right. Without any room for error, Adlib was chosen on the basis of their experience of working on this type of fast-paced live events.
The PA system comprised a selection of L-Acoustics K1, KARA and V-DOSC loudspeakers. For the main hangs there were 14 K1 a side, with two KARA-downs. The side hangs had 12 K1 a side. 14 KARA and 10 ARCS were used as front fills. The bottom end of spectrum was covered by the new KS28 subs, which were ground stacked in the front of the stage. There were four delay hangs of six V-DOSC to deliver audio to those who were positioned at a slight distance from the main stage. The whole system was driven by L-Acoustics LA12x and LA8 amps and Adlib’s Lake LM44 control rack was used for EQ and signal distribution.
Adlib’s new DiGiCo SD12 consoles were the house desks, running as an A&B system for optimal act changeover times. For stage monitors, Adlib also supplied three ARCS a side and SB28s for sidefills, 16 Adlib MP5 wedges and two L-Acoustics DV subs.
The spectacular lighting shows presented during the festival were made possible thanks to lighting rig that included various Martin and Clay Paky lighting fixtures, further complemented by MDG theONE, which provided haze on stage.
Martin Mac Viper Profiles, Martin Mac Viper Washes, Martin Mac Quantum Washes, Clay Paky Mythos 2’s and Clay Paky Stormy cc’s populated the rig, whilst at Front of House there were two grandMA2 Lites and two High End Systems Full Boar 4’s to control them.
Adlib supplied a Green-GO wireless comms system to communicate between the crew onstage and the operators at front of house. Additionally, Adlib re-rigged the festival lighting rig each night to accommodate each of the headliners touring lighting systems.
The TRNSMT festival was a resounding success that was awarded the 'Best New Festival' award at UK Festival Awards and Adlib’s team applied their audio and lighting expertise to this new event in the midst of a busy festival season. Located in the heart of the city on Glasgow Green, the urban festival attracted over 120,000 music fans, who saw performances from the likes of Radiohead, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, London Grammar, The 1975, Belle & Sebastian and many more.
With a great line up of performers, this inaugural event had a chance to establish itself as the main Scottish festival of the year, and with early bird tickets for next year already sold out, it might have done just that.
