Overview
Adlib supplied a comprehensive lighting, video and rigging package for Doja Cat’s UK & European arena dates of the ‘Tour Ma Vie’ World Tour. The project focused on delivering a highly precise, symmetrical visual environment designed to support a top female artist.

The set and stage design was engineered to provide a clean, structural platform that placed the artist as the main event of the performance, incorporating a thrust stage measuring 32ft x 8ft. The technical brief required a strictly symmetrical stage and fixture layout, demanding precise execution from the rigging, lighting, and video teams to ensure an exceptionally neat and tidy presentation. Visually, the content strategy remained minimalist, utilising a vast layout of LED surfaces less for traditional video playback and more as additional lighting fixtures. This, alongside a clean stage with a structural platform at the centre of the stage design (provided by TAIT x Silent House), placed the visual emphasis entirely on the artist.

The overhead system comprised 84 x Martin Aura Raven XIP wash fixtures and 16 x Ayrton Khamsin profiles, which provided the core lighting architecture. These were supported by 11 x GLP X4 Bar luminaires and 34 x Chauvet Strike Array 4C fixtures for audience blinder duties. Remote followspot coverage was achieved using 5 x Robe iForte LTX fixtures integrated with a RoboSpot system. Power distribution for the lighting infrastructure was managed via four StageSmarts 72way distros, whilst control was handled by a grandMA3 full-size console package, with another unit supplied for redundancy.

The floor package added significant visual depth to the symmetrical design, utilising 19 x GLP JDC1 hybrid strobes, 31 x GLP X4 Bar fixtures, 18 x Ayrton Khamsin profiles, and an additional 2 x Martin Aura Raven XIP units. Atmospheric layering and fog effects were generated by two MDG theONE systems and four MDG ATMe foggers, with air direction managed by nine TMB Profan units distributed across the stage.

The visual package involved the deployment of 233 square metres of ROE Visual LED panels alongside a multi-channel broadcast camera chain.
The extensive LED layout was constructed entirely from ROE Visual BQ4 panels. This included traditional 7m x 8m IMAG screens and two 23m x 2m horseshoe structures, one cladding a platform on stage and the other flown, both featured seamless corners. These two large surfaces centering the stage were complemented by four upstage ribbons measuring 9.5m x 0.5m each and a 20m x 0.5m front truss cladding system with seamless corners. The entire LED array was driven by a bespoke Adlib Disguise GX3 media server system controlled by a grandMA3 light, with camera control and signal routing managed via a custom Adlib Iridium PPU system incorporating a Ross Ultrix router and a Ross Carbonite switcher.

Broadcast camera coverage featured four Panasonic UC4000 channels equipped with a selection of optics, including two Panasonic UJ90x lenses, one Panasonic CJ14 lens, and one Panasonic CJ20 lens. This was reinforced by an extensive remote camera setup consisting of eight Panasonic UE160 PTZ cameras mounted on Proaim Shockmounts and operated via two Panasonic RP-150 PTZ controllers.

The exact symmetry of the technical design relied on a precise rigging infrastructure to support the substantial weight loads safely. The flown elements were suspended using a total of 68 EXE D8+ hoists, divided into 43 x 1T EXE D8+, 6 x 2T EXE D8+, and 19 x 0.5t EXE D8+ motor points. The overhead grid was constructed using a combination of Tyler GT pre-rig truss, including 28 x 10-foot sections, 9 x 8-foot sections, and 13 x 5-foot sections, alongside 45 x Total Fabrications OV40 truss sections to maintain clean lines throughout the venue.

The technical delivery for Doja Cat’s European leg of the world tour successfully realised a highly structured visual design. By integrating high-specification lighting, custom seamless LED geometry, and robust rigging engineering, Adlib provided a technically resilient touring platform. The precise alignment of fixtures and integration of the video walls as additional lighting sources successfully fulfilled the creative brief, ensuring the artist remained the central focus of every performance across the tour.
