CODA Audio has introduced the ViFORCE 4-way cardioid line array and the SUB FORCE 35 sensor-controlled subwoofer to its FORCE range. These systems utilise Wideband Cardioid™ technology to provide pattern control across the entire operating range of the loudspeakers.

ViFORCE – Compact & Precise

The ViFORCE is a 4-way system designed for medium-scale events and arenas with capacities of up to 10,000. Its acoustic design combines two 8" forward-facing neodymium drivers with two 6.5" side-firing drivers. This configuration manages energy at the rear over a wider bandwidth than conventional cardioid systems, resulting in a quieter stage and increased low-frequency extension.

Mid and high frequencies are handled by a dual-diaphragm planar-wave-driver (DDP), which produces a phase-coherent wavefront with low intermodulation and total harmonic distortion. The system maintains a linear phase response across a frequency range of 45 Hz to 21 kHz. When powered by LINUS14 management amplifiers, a six-box system achieves a maximum peak SPL of 155 dB.

For flexibility in various environments, InstaFit couplers allow the horizontal dispersion to be adjusted to 90°, 120°, or an asymmetrical 105°. The enclosure is constructed from a hybrid of birch plywood and aluminium, weighing 29 kg, and features an integrated 3-point rigging system for flown or ground-stacked arrays.

SUB FORCE 35 – Sensor-Controlled Low End

The SUB FORCE 35 is a slim, 3 x 15" subwoofer that extends the system response down to 25 Hz. It features two front-facing 15" neodymium woofers and one rear-facing 15" woofer. Each driver contains an integrated velocity sensor that measures diaphragm movement in real-time, allowing the system to correct inaccuracies and distortion through a self-optimising, closed feedback-loop.

A specific design feature of the SUB FORCE 35 is its side-mounted porting. This allows the cabinet to be placed directly against a wall or stage front without loss of output or the driver damage that can occur when conventional cardioid subwoofers are positioned in this manner.

Versatility and Performance

Both enclosures utilise Dynamic Airflow Cooling (DAC) technology to manage heat, ensuring high sound pressure levels while maintaining low-power compression. The SUB FORCE 35 can operate in two primary modes: "Sub" mode (25–70 Hz) or "Extension" mode (30–200 Hz), enabling it to act as a standard subwoofer or as a flown bass extension for the ViFORCE array.

Constructed with a polyurea-coated hybrid enclosure, the units carry an IP54 rating, with additional IP55 and Marine Grade protection options available. The systems integrate directly with CODA’s LINUS Loudspeaker Management Amplifiers for optimised performance in touring and installation contexts.
